While some people will require surgery, others can have easier treatments like laser therapy to remove the hideous veins. Sceleotherapy is a varicose vein treatment where the patient is injected with a solution which causes the vein to collapse. As some time passes, the vein seals so no blood can travel through it any longer.

Scelotherapy is normally a safe treatment option, but, there is a risk of allergic reaction to the solution. After treatment its strongly suggested to wear a tight compression so the area can heal more effectively.

If a varicose vein is large, it may have to be surgically removed. This type of operation typically involves small cuts in the area of the vein and the tying off of the vein, sometime the vein is removed though.

After this surgery it is suggested to use compression as well to keep swelling and bruising down. Walking will also help the healing process as well and is recommended to people after this kind of surgery.

The advantage to laser treatment is the very short recovery time, which translates into less rest and the sooner you can get back to your normal routine. The disadvantage of course is the cost of this operation compared to the others which are out there.

The selection of treatments for varicose veins is large now a days. It all depends on your comfort level, budget, and the needs which are required.
